The talented all-rounder from Madhya Pradesh was one of those few cricketers who had an exceptional record in first-class cricket but who wasn't able to perform well enough for the national side.Hrishikesh Kanitkar will always be remembered for the winning four he hit off Saqlain Mushtaq in the final of the Independence Cup back in 1998 in Dhaka, to help India achieve their highest ever run chase back then.Kanitkar went on to play 34 ODIs for India but managed to score just 339 runs at an average of 17. He did not make much of an impact with the ball either, taking just 17 wickets in total.
